I absolutely love coconut water, coconut milk, coconut oil, coconut flakes. You get the idea. Lately, my husband and I have been making our own coconut milk and it’s absolutely amazing. The best part is that it’s so absolutely fresh.
So, here’s what you do. You can get coconuts in many markets. They can be a bit pricey, however the end result is worth it.
Next, you need to open the coconut. I leave this part up to my husband. He takes a sharp knife & places 4 blunt cuts across the top of the coconut, in a square pattern (please be careful!!!) You need to use some force for this. However, if you do it right, the coconut opens so easily.
Next, you can remove the coconut water & place it in a container.
You could just stop here and take delight in the amazing coconut water you just extracted. However, if your are ready to take it a step further, coconut milk is just a few minutes away. To remove the coconut meat from the coconut, take a spoon, using the rounded side of the spoon, scrape the inside of the shell and remove the coconut meat. Once you have a good amount of meat, add to your blender with a little of the coconut water and blend!!!!! That’s it!
The final product is a rich creamy, homemade coconut MILK!!!!
